Strategic Sectors
EXCITE has had a great deal of success in promoting public and private partnerships in the knowledge sectors of healthcare, life sciences and information technology.
The convergence of these sectors engages local business partners with expertise from outside of the community to create economic value.
These initiatives have benefited Grand Falls-Windsor by creating new jobs and building regional business partnerships with national and international stakeholders.
With the strength of these core knowledge sectors and the understanding that the Canadian e-Health market is currently at about $5 billion per year and growing at a significant rate, EXCITE has developed a cross-sector strategy to combine information technology with the field of healthcare to enable state-of-the-art solutions in the area of e-Health.
EXCITE is developing a comprehensive e-Health strategy based on strong public and private partnerships to generate economic activity in this emerging field.
Current initiatives:- The establishment of nationally accredited e-Health Training program at the College of the North Atlantic in Grand Falls-Windsor.
